Fodonyx spenceri, formally Rhynchosaurus spenceri.

Meaning of name: digging claw & spenceri to honour Mr Patrick Spencer, formally of Sidmouth, who collected the holotype & most of the known material of this species.

Described by: David W. E. Hone and Michael J. Benton in 2008.

Location: South West England. (Sidmouth, Base of Peak Hill)

Time: Anisian stage of the Middle Triassic (245 to 237 million years ago)

Classification: Archosauromorpha, Rhynchosauria, Hyperodapedontidae.

Length: 1m.

Lifestyle: Low rooter or browser.
