Hatzegopteryx thambema 5

Name: Hatzegopteryx.

Meaning of name: basin wing monster. 

Species: H. thambema. 

Classification: Pterosauria, Pterodactyloidea, Azhdarchidae, Quetzalcoatlinae. 

Time period: Late Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous.

Distribution: Transylvania, Romania.

Wingspan: 11m.  

Lifestyle: Hunter/scavenger.

19/05/2018 I have changed the hind limbs to sweep backwards in flight as I see this position more feasible for Pterodactyloids (see thoughts gallery for arguments)
